Dial Words is a daily word puzzle inspired by vintage rotary telephones where your mission is to build as many words as possible from 8 letters arranged on a dial.
You get a new set of letters every day, displayed on a rotary phone interface. Tap or type letters to spell words of four letters or more. Letters can be reused, so longer words are absolutely on the table.
- Spell words using 4 or more letters from the dial.
- Letters can be reused as many times as you need.
- Each letter is worth 1 to 5 points based on its position on the dial. Letters further along are worth more, just like higher numbers took more effort to dial on a rotary phone.
- Words with 7 or more letters earn a 2Γ score multiplier, so aim long.
- Vowels are highlighted in red to help you spot them quickly.
- Everyone gets the same letters each day, so you can compare scores.
Work your way up through tiers from Novice to Genius by hitting score thresholds. The game uses the ENABLE1 word list, the same dictionary as Words with Friends.
Why we like it:
- β The rotary dial mechanic is genuinely charming and surprisingly satisfying to use.
- β Letter reuse opens up creative, longer words that other games don't allow.
- β The position based scoring adds strategy beyond just finding any word.
Hint: Go for length first. That 2Γ multiplier on seven letter words makes a single long word worth more than multiple short ones. Scan for common prefixes and suffixes to stretch your finds.
