Movie Snake is a daily film trivia game where you solve a chain of nine movie clues using just 12 guesses total across the entire puzzle.
Each day presents nine connected clues. Every clue gives you two pieces of information, like an actor's name and a release year range. Your job is to find a movie that matches both criteria. Type a title, and if you're right, the movie poster appears and you move to the next clue. If you're wrong, that guess counts against your total pool of 12.
- You get 12 guesses total to solve all nine clues, meaning you can afford three mistakes before the game ends.
- Each clue shows two criteria. A movie must satisfy both to be correct.
- Movies can appear more than once across different clues.
- Click on an actor's name to see their photo if you need a visual reminder.
- Click on a clue for more details if the criteria aren't clear.
- Skip ahead to another clue if you're stuck. You don't have to solve them in order.
- Scoring is based on rarity. Obscure correct answers earn more points than obvious ones.
- Puzzles get harder as the week progresses and reset every Monday.
Why we like it:
- β The shared guess pool adds real tension as you decide which clues to tackle first.
- β Rewards deep cuts and film knowledge with higher scores for rare answers.
- β Nine clues in one sitting makes it meatier than most daily puzzles without overstaying its welcome.
Hint: Don't burn guesses on the hardest clue first. Scan all nine, knock out the obvious ones to bank points, then use your remaining guesses on the trickier panels. Every correct answer is progress, even if it's the easy one.
