Objective

Place 24 letters onto a 5Γ—5 grid to form valid words and maximize your total score before filling the final wildcard cell.

Playlin'sGuide

ScoreWords is a daily word grid puzzle where you place 24 letters one by one onto a 5Γ—5 grid to form the highest-scoring arrangement of words possible.

You're dealt letters sequentially, with full visibility of what's coming next. Every fourth letter is a mystery, shown as ? until it's your turn to place it. After placing all 24 letters, you choose any letter you want for the final wildcard cell to complete the grid.

  • Place each letter into any empty cell on the 5Γ—5 grid.
  • You see the upcoming sequence, but every 4th letter is hidden until you must place it.
  • After placing 24 letters, pick any letter for the final wildcard spot.
  • Valid words form horizontally, vertically, or diagonally and must be 3 to 5 letters long.
  • 3-letter word: 3 points. 4-letter word: 4 points. 5-letter word: 10 points.
  • Shorter words fully contained within longer words on the same line don't score separately.
  • A new puzzle drops daily.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…The mystery letters add just enough chaos to keep you adapting on the fly.
  • βœ…Balancing short term word building with long term grid strategy is genuinely satisfying.
  • βœ…That final wildcard is a perfect last chance to salvage or supercharge your score.

Hint: Don't chase 5-letter words too early. Build flexible clusters that can branch in multiple directions as mystery letters reveal themselves. The wildcard at the end is your safety net, not your strategy.
